Beyond Kegels®

With our Beyond Kegels® exercise program you will learn how to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and understand the importance of physiological quieting (breathing or relaxation) to regain bladder and or bowel control.

We all strive to stay active and healthy during the aging process, pregnancy and recovery, exercise, menopause and after surgery (such as hysterectomy or prostatectomy).  Beyond Kegels® has been proven to be effective for men, women and children.  The comprehensive program is non-invasive and designed to prevent frequency, urgency and leaking.  It is simple to learn, easy to do and very effective in strengthening pelvic floor muscles.  Many participants also report decreased lower back pain and improvement in gait and balance. Stroke Rehab

We have developed an individualized Stroke Rehab program for both our inpatients and outpatients from the community.  This program moves patients through predictable stages of recovery based on their stroke to maximize their rehab potential – rather than interrupt it.  Two of our therapists are certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and their goal is to rehab a stroke the right way.

If treatment only focuses on function, a patient can develop abnormal movement patterns and depend on compensatory movement to accomplish tasks, often painful and less proficient.  However, if component skills are emphasized, treatment focuses on what it takes to do a task and look good doing it.  Healing after a stroke involved communication between therapists and patients, as well as education and encouragement.  Individualized treatment plans are developed to facilitate the return to normal movement patterns.
